European Project ELVITEN

Description of the Exhibitor:

The EU funded project, ELVITEN, consisting of 21 partners from 10 different European countries, aims to make the Light Electric Vehicles, EL-Vs, more attractive to the users and integrate them in urban mobility. More specifically, the partners:

  • Attempt to familiarize citizens with EL-Vs and encourage the use for both private transport and light urban deliveries.
  • Develop instructions and working models, based on the collection of real data to be used by service providers and vehicle manufacturers.

The ELVITEN consortium will jointly endeavor to address some of the challenges faced by the users, mainly related to the lack of information and limited knowledge of the EL-Vs‘effectiveness and functionality. To this end, demonstrations of light-duty electric vehicles will take place in order to give the citizens of six European cities the opportunity to acquire the driving experience of an electric vehicle. In parallel, events and public demonstrations will be organized on each of the cities so as to attract the users, the regional and national principles and other interested parties and increase the awareness of the ELVITEN usage schemes.

ELVITEN booth in ITS Hellas Conference:

During the exhibition two Light Electric Vehicles (EL-Vs) from the ten to be currently available in the city of Trikala will be presented for common use from the citizens, the visitors of the town and even light urban deliveries’ companies (such as couriers, or food deliveries e.t.c.). The vehicles’ use in Trikala is supported from booking services, the corresponding infrastructure (a charging/parking station) and also from applications to collect points and earn rewards. The exhibition’s participants will be able to see the vehicles, find out more regarding the benefits of the day-to-day usage in urban environments and also get further informed about the one-year pilots, under the ELVITEN project in the city of Trikala as well as the other five European cities.
